The lamello biscuits are a joy to use with the Lammelo glue dispenser This unit is well made with minimal variablity when set to a particular setting. The unit is very smooth to use and accurate. Took awile to convert from Porter cable joiner. The quality lasts beyond the higher price tag.No complaints other than difficulty finding the 22 mm blade for the small biscuits.
Pick this up. You won't be disappointed. After three years in a high school class, its also proven to be durable. Absolute accuracy.
What do you feel. Yep, its expensive. It's precise,it's well built, it well balanced and it does perfect work. What is more expensive is cursing as you try and fix work when you are supposed to be having fun. Nothing comes close. NONE, come close to this.
If you want the best, you have to pay for the best. It has dead on flat and vertical accuracy, soft start and a great fence. Balance Set the dials. Take the plunge; no pun intended. I've had three biscuit cutters. THIS IS THE BEST.
What do you get.
Seriously once the Domino catches on everywhere the biscuit joiner will be extinct. The price on this tool on Amazon at the moment is 879.00. I have a dewalt that was given to me that honestly does a fantastic job considering the brand. It is a way better machine and is so much more versatile than a biscuit joiner. I have used this machine many many times but never owned one. Yes it is very nice as far as biscuit joiner's are concerned. Uhm buy a Festool Domino for less than 600.
I hated that it took me so long to pull the trigger, but it beats everything I have seen or used hands down. Worth the higher price, but if you don't need it right away.save some bucks. What a machine. Good Luck.
Wait for the price drop and do it. Most satisfied were the Porter Cable folks. You will NOT be unhappy. I decided to get the Lamello and waited for 3 or 4 months checking the price on Amazon daily and when it dipped to $649.00 I jumped on it. I researched and asked friends and of course they all loved the one they had. So I borrowed a friends PC and used it on my last project. WOW. The adjustments are SIMPLE and ACCURATE.
This is the first time I have ever taken the time to review any of my purchases, but this one warranted it and you people deserve to know. I had an old SKIL biscuit joiner for years and it did an OK job, but it was tired and a new one was in my immediate future. Decent machine, but not a life long product for a busy woodworker and the adjustments didn't seem as easy as the Lamello. This is clearly a case of you get what you pay for.
This tool is so well built that you have to use it and see it to believe it. As expensive as this tool is presently - the the EURO vs the US dollar will drive the price even higher in the near future. I have one other tools(the one replaced)around 200.00(there are several in that price range) not to mention any names - it has always been inconsistent on repeat cuts - there is some play somewhere. My wooden case arrives in perfect shape and well built. Superb accuracy.
It is expensive but Amazon eases the pain of the price. Lamello reminds me of Starrett quality of many many decades ago. Others have commented with similar issues on precision. It been disappointing. The Lamello everything works perfect from the first to the last. Other places are charging 150-250 more than Amazon. The Lamello fully mature product after many decades of perfecting the design.
The build quality is just off the scale. Every cut perfect - the first and repeated. what a difference. WOW. My old tool was aging so I replaced it with the Lamello. I gather that can vary from previous customer reviews. This tool is not over priced - the only question whether one can afford or needs the quality.
